Introduction
[CONTROLLER NAME] (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the website asenq.com (the “Site”). This privacy policy explains how we collect, use and protect information when you visit the Site.
asenq is an open-source command-line tool (MIT licence) for local inter-agent messaging. The asenq CLI runs entirely on your machine, makes no network calls and contains no telemetry. This website collects nothing from the CLI.
What we collect
Server logs
Our web server (nginx reverse proxy and WordPress) automatically logs the following data for every request:
- IP address
- Date and time of the request
- Requested URL
- Referrer URL
- User agent (browser and operating system)
- HTTP status code
This data is processed for security and operational purposes under our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Server logs are retained for up to 14 days and then deleted through routine log rotation.
Google Analytics 4
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use the Site. GA4 is loaded only after you accept analytics cookies via the consent banner. Nothing is sent to Google before you click Accept (Consent Mode v2).
When you accept, the following cookies are set:
- _ga — distinguishes visitors; expires after 2 years.
- _ga_<ID> — maintains session state; expires after 2 years.
GA4 does not log or store your IP address. The analytics service is provided by Google Ireland Limited (Google Building Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) and Google LLC (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA). Data may be transferred to the United States under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw consent at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of every page.
Consent cookie
When you make a choice on the consent banner (Accept or Reject), a first-party cookie is stored:
- asq_consent — records your consent choice; expires after 6 months. This cookie is strictly necessary to remember your preference and does not require separate consent.
WordPress cookies
If you log in to the WordPress administration area (site editors only), WordPress sets session and authentication cookies. These are strictly necessary for the administration interface and are not set for regular visitors.
Fonts and external links
All fonts used on this Site (Archivo, IBM Plex Mono, IBM Plex Sans) are self-hosted. No requests are made to Google Fonts or any other external font service.
The Site links to our repository on GitHub. When you follow such a link, you leave our Site and GitHub’s own privacy statement applies.
